Over ten posters with information about the list of candidates, voting procedure and other electoral procedures are being prepared for the election day. Also, to ensure the people are better informed about the voting method and the mixed electoral system, the Center for Continuous Electoral Training is staging a number of nationwide campaigns, IPN reports.

The Center’s director Pavel Kabachenko said a campaign called “18+”, intended for young people who will vote for the first time, was launched on social networking sites at the start of this month. “The young people born in the 21st century, the so-called “Z generation” or “digital natives”, will vote for the first time in the history of elections. We prepared a number of materials for them on social networking sites, such as information memes about the voting procedure and about contact data that they can use to learn more,” Pavel Kabachenko stated in the program “Country” on Vocea Basarabiei TV channel.

According to him, the voting process was simulated to see how the voters and the electoral functionaries cope. “We are preparing training seminars for those functionaries of electoral bureaus. These will be started at the beginning of February,” stated Pavel Kabachenko. He called on the voters to inform themselves from safe sources, from official state institutions, about the electoral process.

Editorialist Nicolae Negru said now that the Republic of Moldova uses another electoral system, the people should be helped to understand what mixed voting is and what the difference between the two electoral systems is. “The people got used to voting parties and now should get used to voting people and this is not so simple,” he stated, noting there are people who are fully unprepared from electoral viewpoint.

Nicolae Negru stated the proportional representation system is simpler and more suitable in Moldova’s conditions.
