More than 300 M lei likely to be used to repair buildings of Parliament and Presidency

The Parliament's building could be ready in six months, and the Presidency's building -- in 5. The initial amount needed to repair the two buildings could vary, says Constructions Minister Vladimir Baldovici, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Vladimir Baldovici has told media on Friday the companies to repair those two buildings devastated in the April 7 events will be announced after a public auction. “Nobody can say who and how will be designated. We only know the requirements for these companies are very high, and the execution terms very restricted,” the Minister says. Speaking about the amount of 300 million lei necessary to repair the headquarters, the official has said “the figures may change in function of the requests for the winners.” When asked which companies started to revamp the buildings immediately after April 7 and if they are remunerated, Vladimir Baldovici has said a number of companies were called to perform 'patriotic work.' “About 20 companies worked for free during a week. Many still do. We cannot leave those building in disarray till the tender is over,” Baldovici said.
