European integration requires a new business environment and much higher quality standards for entrepreneurs. Dumitru Pîntea, director of the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA), declared this in opening the “Entrepreneur Expo 2023” exhibition, which brings together over a hundred Moldovan producers.
This year, ODA implements seven grant programs financed directly from the EU resources, and Dumitru Pîntea says that, since May, about a hundred businesses have received EU funding to increase their production capacities and raise their quality standards.
Adam Grodzicki, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Moldova, said that the European Union’s support for the private sector in Moldova is centered around three pillars: access to finance, services for business development, and the creation of a favorable business environment. On Saturday, a session dedicated to EU support programs for small and medium-sized enterprises will be organized within the exhibition. “Entrepreneur Expo 2023” is a very successful event, which will generate even more business opportunities, more ideas and partnerships, including with European partners, stated the representative of the EU Delegation.
Guido Beltrani, the director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, said that Switzerland has been a long-term partner of the ODA and Moldovan companies, and achieves this partnership by ensuring links between companies from the Republic of Moldova and European ones, also providing policy expertise. Together with colleagues from Germany and GIZ colleagues, “we continue to support the participation of Moldovan entrepreneurs and companies in international fairs, we supported ODA in the creation of the FACEM fund (Fund for Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth of Moldova)”.
Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, said that the authorities want to build an environment open to businesses and, in particular, to small entrepreneurs, to those who are just starting out, to those who want to create at home, in Moldova. “If we want to have good schools and well-paid teachers, if we want to have police officers who receive a decent salary, if we want to have investments for infrastructure, for energy, for hospitals and much more, we have to support the economy, we have to support every entrepreneur, because your success is our success, of the Republic of Moldova”, declared the minister.
The "Entrepreneur Expo 2023" exhibition, the second edition, takes place during November 23-26, at Moldexpo.
