The right and center-right political segment is the most represented in the campaign for the November 28 elections. Six of the 18 parties that were registered as participants in the elections are left or center-left parties. Eight are right and center-right parties, while four of them are center parties, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Communists Party is the main representative of the left-wing segment. The center-left segment includes the Social Democratic Party, the United Moldova Party, the Republican Party, the Sociopolitical Movement “Ravnopravie”, and the Democratic Party of Moldova.
Another three parties of the Alliance for European Integration – the Liberal Party, the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) and the Liberal Democratic Party – form part of the right and center-right segment. The National Liberal Party is a liberal party, while the Party for Nation and Country identifies itself with the Social-Liberals. The Liberal-Democrats, alongside the Christian-Democratic People’s Party, share the Christian-Democrat doctrine. The European Action Movement, the Republican People’s Party, the Conservative Party and the Sociopolitical Movement of the Roma also consider themselves Christian-Democrats. The Humanist Party is a center party.
The Liberal Party and the Moldova Noastra Alliance are fully-fledged members of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party. The AMN is also a member of the Liberal International. The Liberal Democratic Party has the status of observer in the European People’s Party, of which the Christian-Democratic People’s Party is a member.
The Communists Party is a fully-fledged member of the United Left, while the Democratic Party is a member of the Party of European Socialists.
Until October 26, the CEC has registered 18 parties and three independent candidates. Another four independents and two parties submitted the documents, but have not been yet registered.
