Starting September 1, public transport companies from Chisinau will increase the number of buses and trolleybuses on municipal routes. Authorities from the City Bus Fleet (PUA) and the Electrical Transport Management claim that the increase in transport units is caused by the increase in passengers with the new study year. The number of autobuses will be increased from 95 to 115, head of PUA, Anatol Gheorghita stated. If the number won’t satisfy the demands, the company will consider another increase in the number of transport units, Gheoghita declared. Head of PUA a mentioned that no changed will be made to the routes of the transport. At the request of the inhabitants of Chisinau, the autobus route number 15 that connects Potirniche Street and the downtown will be resumed. The „Express” autobus route, that run from the Airport to Ciuflea Street will be extended until Toma Ciorba Street, and the no. 9 , that travels from the Agrarian University to the Republican Hospital will be joined with the no. 8 route, that will run from the town of Codru until Cantemir Market. The Autobus Fleet has decided to suspend the route number 41 that covered Bacioi commune, and decided to lengthen the 4th route to compensate. Gheorghita has also declared that this autumn is a first that the Municipal Council of Chisinau doesn’t offer additional financial support to the company. The fuel is bought through loans, and the accumulated debts reach MDL 2 millions. Authorities from the Electrical Transport Management have announced that starting September 1, the city will have 276 trolleybuses, compared to 240 trolleybuses now. Previously, the General Direction of Public Transport and Communications has announced that it already prepared a new transport circulation scheme, requested by the Chisinau Municipal Council. The scheme, which has to be approved by the councilors, is designed in such a fashion that the routes of microbuses and trolleybuses with autobuses are separated.
