The persons who receive pensions in Moldova, but live in a state with which Moldova didn’t sign social insurance agreements will be able to authenticate the life certificate also with the local public authorities or the public notary on the territory of the state of residence. This is the document the pensioners need to annually present to the Moldovan authorities for confirming the right to pension in Moldova, IPN reports.

Currently, the life certificate is considered valid if it is signed by the beneficiary and is authenticated by the responsible institution or authority on the territory of the state of residence. The document in the original is sent by the applicant by land mail or through the responsible institution to the National House of Social Insurance.

The pension is paid from the moment the application is submitted for a period of 12 months. When this period expires, the beneficiary must present again the life certificate in person or must send it to the National House of Social Insurance. If this is not done, the payment of the pension is suspended starting with the next month after the month the 12-month period expires.

The Government decision approved today takes effect when it is published in the Official Gazette.
