The number of organizations that can benefit from the 2% mechanism in 2020 rose by 15% on last year to 844. Of these, 87% are public associations, foundations and private institutions, while 13% are religious organizations. The list of beneficiaries was presented by the Public Services Agency that deals with the applications for registering new beneficiaries of the 2% mechanism each year, IPN reports.
The Legal Resources Center of Moldova said that an increasing number of NGOs can benefit from the process when private individuals – taxpayers direct 2% of the tax they pay on the income earned the previous year.
The organizations included in the list of beneficiaries of the 2% mechanism can already start the campaign to inform and attract supporters as tax returns can be submitted from January 1 until the end of April.
