The drivers ignore the vehicles with wailing sirens even if they risk heavy fines, Uliana Catan, of the Traffic Police Department's press service, has told Info-Prim Neo. Eighteen drivers were fined for not giving way to the ambulance with the siren wailing on the second day of the operation “Siren”. The ambulance traveled along the Viaduct and Dacia Blvd. simulating an emergency. Some of the drivers did not give way to it and did not pull to the right even if they had the possibility. They were fined for breaking traffic rules, Uliana Catan said. As there is no special lane in Chisinau on which the special vehicles with sirens and flashers can move, the drivers are obliged to pull to the right if the flasher is blue and stop if the flasher is red. The fine for not giving way to special vehicles varies between 500 and 600 lei and four penalty points of the 15 exiting.
