More children to rest in summer camps this year

The number of children who will rest in summer camps this year will be by over 10,000 higher than last year. A number of 169,000 children and teems will go to full-time summer camps, while 190,000 to day summer camp. The information was made public in the last meeting of the National Council on Child Rights Protection, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Deputy Minister of Education Tatiana Potang, 29 children from childcare residential institutions in June-August will rest in Italy, where they will receive medical and rehabilitation treatment. Ten children from residential institutions will go to Crimea to rest in July-August. About 2,000 children from such institutions will be able to rest in the country. A part of them will be placed in different families. The others will rest inside the institutions. A day in a summer camp costs about 116 lei. Free tickets will be given to orphans, children from one-parent families, large families and from families on low incomes. There will be opened 81 full-time summer camps and 458 day summer camps. Last year, 158,000 children and teens rested in 78 full-time summer camps, while 190,000 children in 447 day summer camps.
