More ATMs will be installed in Moldova, with a view to diminish the high volume of cash. According to the authorities, this fact is negatively influencing the inflation, thus it was decided to shift faster to the banking card payments. The problem was discussed at a meeting called by PM Vasile Tarlev. Victor Cibotari, first deputy-governor of the National Bank of Moldova informed that the growth of the national curency against the foreign currencies is very slow. The growth was more significant lately because of the high inflows of currency in Moldova, including due to the high number of tourists who visit Moldova after the visa system was annulled in the case of the EU and US citizens. According to him, the inflation level in Moldova during the last seven months of 2007 constituted 5%, which has also positively influenced the exchange rate of the national currency. Vasile Tarlev asked examining the possibility of diminishing the interest rate of credits.
