A monument to victims of political repression will be built in Straseni town, IPN reports, quoting a Government decision approved based on a decision of the local council.
The costs will be covered with allocations from the local and district budgets and with sponsorships.
Minister of Culture Monica Babuc said the monument will be erected to render homage to those who suffered as a result political repression and deportations. A number of 126 families consisting of over 300 people had been deported from Straseni in 1940-1953.
