The gypsum body of the future monument to deportees was finished and is to be sent to Belarus to be covered in bronze, Info-Prim Neo reports. Constructions Division head Roman Sofroni Monday said that the works to erect the pedestal on which the monument will rest in the square of the Railway Terminal started two months ago. The fountains and the constructions adjoining them will be rehabilitated there. The fountain in the square of the Railway Workers’ Palace of Culture, the pig iron decorations and night lighting will also be renovated. The monument to detainees will be constructed at a cost of 22 million lei.
