Monthly subsidies for each vote given to parties and electoral blocs set

The monthly subsidy for each vote given to political parties and electoral blocs at the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019 was set at 0.35 lei, for each valid vote cast in the local general elections of October 2019 at 0.32 lei, while for each valid vote given at the presidential elections of 2016 at 0.34 lei, as the Central Election Commission (CEC) decided on January 13, IPN reports. 

The CEC also deciced that 9 179 lei will be provided in subsidies to parties for each woman elected effectively as an MP in single-member constituencies and 12,234 lei for each young person elected in these, 57.92 lei for each woman elected effectively in the local elections and 94.16 lei for each young person elected in these.

According to CEC chairman Dorin Cimil, in the case of electoral blocs, the subsidies will be divided according to the preliminary agreements between members of electoral blocs. In the absence of an agreement, the sum will be divided depending on the obtained seats.

Dorin Cimil noted the CEC was allocated 38.172,700 million lei for financing political parties. The subsidies allocated from the state budget will reach the bank accounts opened for the purpose by parties and will be transferred monthly.

In the same meeting, the CEC decided the general ceiling of the amounts that can be transferred to the bank account “Intended for initiative group/groups” opened by political parties, other sociopolitical organizations, electoral blocs and independents for supporting candidates in single-member constituency No. 38 of Hîncești municipality in the new parliamentary elections of March 15, 2020. This was set at 79,530 lei for each initiative group.

According to CEC secretary Maxim Lebedinski, the average monthly official salary forecast for 2020 at 7,953 lei was taken as reporting basis for setting the coefficient of 1%, which is equal to 79.53 lei.

The general ceiling of the amounts that can be transferred to the account “Electoral fund” of the contestants that will run in single-member constituency No. 38 of Hîncești municipality in the new parliamentary elections of March 15, 2020 was set at 2.386,200 lei for each election runner.

New parliamentary elections will be held in single-member constituency No. 38 of Hîncești municipality after Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari renounced the seat of MP won in this constituency in favor of the post of mayor of Hâncești municipality, where he won the November 3 runoffs. The expenditure estimate for organizing and holding the elections in the municipality of Hâncești, approved by the CEC, is of 4.2 million lei.
