The administration of the group of companies Monolit and Monolit Construct is open for a transparent and objective dialogue and supports the formation of a trade union organization at the enterprise, if employees put forward such an initiative. The announcement was made by the director of Monolit Construct Petru Burduja in a news conference at IPN in reply to the accusations that he intimidates the employees who want to found a trade union.
Petru Burduja said he supports the creation of a trade union organization if this thing is based on voluntary principles. But he is definitely against if these actions are taken through pressure exerted on the company’s administration and employees. Last October, he received a document from the Federation of Trade Unions from the Constructions and Building Materials Industry “Sindicons” by which he was informed that employees of SRL Monolit Construct in a meeting decided to set up a trade union.
There was presented the list of trade union members and its president. Shortly afterward, a number of employees left the trade union. Petru Burduja explained that this is due to the lack of transparency in electing the organization’s president. He denied that he was intimidated by employees into leaving the trade union and said that this January he signed an order approving its formation.
Petru Burduja also said that the State Labor Inspectorate draw up a report against the company because it didn’t order creating the trade union within seven days. The report was submitted to court, which is to pass judgment in the near future.
Petru Burduja asked the administration of “Sindicons” and the Ministry of Labor to take attitude and to stop the vicious practice that leads to the destabilization of the activity of economic entities.
