More money for the digital education of teachers who have to teach online will be allocated from the state budget. The teachers who will work after hours will have bonuses to salaries, IPN quoted Socialist MP Alla Darovannaya as saying in a press briefing.

“Given the pandemic, when the educational process was suspended for three months and both the teachers and children were confused, the authorities, in concert with the teaching staff, prepared the program for the new school year and we appreciate the efforts of those who managed to resume the educational process. We now have three priorities: to ensure the quality of studies during the pandemic, to protect the health of those involved in the educational process and to develop digital education,” stated Alla Darovannaia.

The MP noted that 300,000 lei was earmarked for the digital education of teachers, while 5 million lei for the digital library.

The Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance approved a bill in support of teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The law on the common salary system will be amended to specify that the teaching activities performed by teachers, including those with executive posts, in early, primary, secondary, lyceum and extra-school education institutions will not be limited in the first half of the 2020-2021 academic year. The amendments are to be debated in Parliament.
