Moldtelecom says concerns about monopolization of TV programs retransmission market are groundless

The administration of the national telecoms carrier SA Moldtelecom considers that the concerns expressed by some of the members of the Broadcasting Coordination Council about the monopolization by the company of the TV programs retransmission market are groundless, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldtelecom commercial director Ion Rosca said there are no reasons to believe that the company he represents will eclipse other specialized operators. Moldtelecom’s offer is available on the broadband Internet platform. In towns, most of the residents have Internet connection, while in villages the situation is different. Moldtelecom on December 23 submitted the program on the retransmission of the channels included in its offer to the Broadcasting Coordination Council for approval. Some of the Council’s members expressed their concern that Moldtelecom can monopolize this market. Council member Ludmila Vasilache stressed that the smaller operators give up providing such services as Moldtelecom’s stability scares them.
