The national telecoms carrier Moldtelecom increases landline charges as from next January. The clients are informed about this through letters sent by the company.
Contacted by IPN for details, Rodica Hurmuzache, marketing director of Moldtelecom, said that the landline charges haven’t been raised for over 10 years and the company sustains considerable losses due to this. Given the economic conjuncture that leads to higher costs for electricity, rent, maintenance, fuel and technological equipment, the charges must be adjusted so as to correlate the costs and services provided based on subscription.
The 40 lei subscription will be improved and will include limitless calls to the landline and mobile phone networks of Moldtelecom. Now the landline subscription includes a limited number of minutes and only local calls, without calls to the mobile phone network. The calls to the mobile phone network are charged additionally, said the marketing director.
The subscribers who purchase fixed broadband Internet from Moldtelecom and transfer traditional telephony to SIP (session initiation protocol) services will not pay this charge as the current users of fixed broadband Internet from Moldtelecom will not do it.
At present, the clients of Moldtelecom pay 24 lei for standard landline subscription (300minutes), 6 lei for Economic subscription (200 minutes) and 6 lei for concessional subscription (700 minutes).
