“Moldtelecom” provides telephone numbers of public institutions free of charge

Starting November 1, “Moldtelecom” JSC will resume the gratis provision, by means of 1188 hotline, of the information on telephone numbers of an additional number of public institutions, even if the requester provides incomplete data on these institutions. To date, starting September 1, the national telephony operator provides such services free of charge only if the requester presents complete data about the subscriber (name and address), or incomplete data (name) about the authorities of the local and central public administration, medical institutions and drugstores. According to the press service of the National Regulatory Agency in Telecommunications and Informatics (ANRTI), railway and auto stations, airports and harbors, emergency services and dispatcher offices of communal enterprises, kindergartens, schools and universities, culture institutions (theaters, cinemas, libraries, museums, concert halls, radio stations and TV channels, archives), associations of protection of consumers’ rights, National Chamber of Social Insurances, National Health Insurance Company and its structures in municipalities, towns and districts, have been included in the list additionally. “Moldtelecom” JSC decided upon this issue at the request of ANRTI, which considers as necessary to extend the list of enterprises and public institution. The Agency submitted this request following an examination of multiple complaints and calls from the customers that are unsatisfied with the new procedure of providing information services by “Moldtelecom” JSC. Information on telephone numbers of the other subscribers will be provided for free, by the 1188 hotline, only in case the requester presents complete data about them: in case of the legal persons – name and address, an in case of the individuals – name, surname and address. Otherwise, this information will be provided through the agency of 1189 hotline, for money, at a price of 0,48 lei (including VAT) per call.
