SRL Moldovatransgaz was fined 34 million lei by the National Agency for Energy Regulation for not fulfilling the legal obligation to ensure its independence from the vertically integrated natural gas company SA Moldovagaz, which was authorized to supply natural gas, IPN reports.
The demand to ensure the separation and independence of the transmission system operator for gas is stipulated in the law on natural gas and also in the Third Energy Package. The non-observance of these provisions caries financial sanctions.
As the Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation decided, the fine imposed on SRL Moldovatransgaz is to be transferred to the state budget.
