Moldova’s Patriots Party demands that Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca be expelled. About 20 members of the party Tuesday protested in front of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, chanting “We do not want blood”. The protesters are indignant that the ambassador did not apologize for the incident that happened at the Galati customs post, where a Moldovan was wounded by a Romanian border policeman, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We have two similar cases involving a Russian peacekeeper and a Romanian police officer. They shot by a Moldovan citizen. It was hysteria about the case involving the Russian peacekeeper, but in the border shooting incident no reaction followed. We demand that the Romanian ambassador be expelled. I think an educated man should have made statements. It means that he does not care about the injured Moldovan,” said the party’s chairman Mihail Garbuz. Deputy chairman of the party Serghei Perciun said that a kind of anti-Russian hysteria started in Moldova. “The remaining Romanian-unionist forces cause discomfort in society. We took to the street to show them that it is not the case to politicize this situation and provoke hysteria because Russia for us is more important than other countries,” he stated. On the morning of January 15, a citizen of Moldova was wounded on the Moldovan-Romanian border following an attempt to smuggle contraband cigarettes and altercations with the Romanian customs and border authorities.
