The Republic of Moldova will transfer from the 2007 State Budget some 47 million lei to pay membership fees and dues to international organisations. As of the beginning of 2007, Moldova’s membership dues to international organisations amounted to 261 million lei. Some 24 million lei more are needed to pay membership fees for 2007. The largest amounts are owed to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (BIRD) – 64 million lei, the World Health Organisation – 3 million lei, followed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (BERD) – 33 million lei. Eight-digit sums in Moldovan lei are also owed to the International Labour Organisation (27.5 million), UNESCO (17 million), the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group (13.5 million lei), etc. Moldova continues to be a punctual payer of its membership fees in CIS organisations. Thus, as of the beginning of 2007, Moldova owed only 455,000 lei to the CIS Economic Tribunal, with 123,500 lei planned to be transferred this year. At the start of 2007, Moldova owed nothing to GUAM, but this year Moldova’s membership dues to this organisation amounted to 657,000 lei.
