The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs slammed “as fake and manipulative” reports circulating among Russian internet users about Moldova participating in mass exports of biological material.
“Such reports are pure fiction. Attributed to the Russian Ministry of Defense and shared by multiple Russian websites, it continues the series of hoaxes by which Russian propaganda attempts to promote the idea that Ukraine might use biological agents in the future. The novelty that has appeared now is that Moldova is allegedly involved logistically in this process”, the MFA said.
The Ministry insists the reports are “fakes intended to induce confusion and ambiguities with the aim of discrediting the Moldovan authorities and the European course of the Republic of Moldova”.
“The Republic of Moldova firmly adheres to all international norms against the proliferation of biological weapons and will remain so”, the Ministry added.
