Moldova's Honorary Consulate opens in Tartu

A Honorary Consulate of Moldova has been inaugurated in Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia. Tiit Vapper, an Estonian national, was appointed honorary consul, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Moldovan Embassy in Estonia said in a press release that the Honorary Consulate will offer further means to deepen bilateral cooperation, stimulate commercial contacts and defend the interests of Moldovan citizens within Estonian territory. The newly established Consulate will have jurisdiction over the counties of Tartu, Jõgeva, Viljandi, Valga, Põlva and Võru. The Consulate's inauguration marked the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Estonia.
