The three Moldovan female athletes who competed at the international wrestling tournament in Poland won medals. Only Irina Rîngaci qualified for the final of the 65 kg weight class, IPN reports.
She easily defeated the representatives of the host country, Zofia Polowczyk and Zuzan Wolczynska, and also Turkey’s Asli Demir, but in the final lost to Russia’s Maria Kuznetsova 6-11.
Anastasia Nikita (57kg) and Mariana Cherdivară-Eșanu (59kg) won bronzes. Anastasia defeated Spain’s Graciela Sanchez 10-0, but in the second round lost 8-8 to Hungary’s Emese Barka, world champion in 2019. Later, Nikita beat Turkey’s Bediha Gun, while in the match for the bronze medal won against France’s Mathide Rivere 9-5.
For her part, Mariana Cherdivară-Eșanu defeated Poland’s Wiktoria Staneta 8-0 in the match for bronze.
