The meetings with people for solving consular aspects at Moldova’s Embassy in the People’s Republic of China will be suspended from March 9 until end-March. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the measure is designed to minimize the risks related to the epidemiological situation in the world, including China, owing to the spread of the COVID-19, IPN reports.

The Embassy will yet continue to provide consular services for issuing travel documents and criminal records and for supra-legalizing papers. The documents will be issued through mail, courier services and email.

An area with a separate entrance inside the Embassy in Beijing will house the Consular Section that will be outfitted with special equipment that is required in such cases.

The Moldovans who are in the People’s Republic of China can call the emergency phone number +86 186 120 89 182 only in emergencies. Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration recommends remaining calm and obeying the protection and prevention measures formulated by the World Health Organization.

The Embassy of Italy in Moldova said those who will need consular services can schedule an appointment by writing to the email address amb.chisinau@esteri.it or by calling 00373 (0) 22 266720. The measure is taken following the orange alert issued by the Government of Moldova and in a move to ensure increased health protection for users.

Also, the Embassy of Italy invites the persons to use the portal “Fast it” so as to register in the Register of Italians Residing Abroad and to report any change of address and residence.

The Moldovan authorities on March 8 issued a nationwide orange alert in connection with the risk of infection with COVID-19. One day earlier, the first case of infection with the novel coronavirus was confirmed in Moldova, in a 48-year-old woman who returned from Italy.
