“I'm not interested in the final score, I just want Moldova to demonstrate genuine football and I want enjoy their play”, stated Moldova's head coach Igor Dobrovolski on Thursday at the end of the last training session open to media representatives ahead of the match against Latvia on Sept. 6. Players seemed in confident mood and set to win – yet very relaxed – entertaining the attending reporters with several impressive feats with the ball. One of Moldova's top scorers during the qualifiers for the 2008 European Cup, Viorel Frunza, said he was optimistic about the chances to beat Latvia, adding that the possibility of reaching the 2010 World Cup Finals appeared no so illusory after all. Moldova will kick off its World Cup qualifying campaign with a match against Latvia, due to start on Saturday at 19:00 at the Tiraspol-based Sheriff Arena.
