The airspace of the Republic of Moldova, which was closed on February 24, at 12 noon, can be used in particular cases, only with the permission of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). For example, humanitarian, repatriation and medical emergency flights are permitted, IPN reports.

The use of Moldova’s airspace will be permitted for flights to reposition civilian flights of national and foreign air operators. This can be done with the written permission of the CAA and on condition that the flights do not have passengers on board.

The ban on flying is also lifted for commercial freight and mail flights of national and foreign air operators, but also with the written permission of the CAA for each flight.

The Civil Aviation Authority, together with the Ministry of Defense, will be able to decide and allow using the airspace by civilian and state flights for other cases too.

To avoid endangering civilian flights in the context of the developments near the border, the Republic of Moldova ordered to close the airspace, while the flights going to Chisinau were diverted to Iasi.
