The Moldovans this year will have another seven nonworking days. The next nonworking days are April 21, which is the day after Easter, and April 28, when it is celebrated Low Sunday. Usually, March 8 is also a nonworking day, but this year it falls on a Saturday, when budget-funded employees do not work, IPN reports.

Under the Government decision on nonworking days in 2014, May 2 (Friday) is a nonworking day, but the budget-funded employees will work on May 17 (Saturday) for it. Thus, the employees will have a mini vacation from May 1 (Thursday) until May 5 (Monday). May 9 is also a public holiday. This year it falls on a Friday. Thus, the budget-funded employees will rest during another three days, together with the weekend.

The next nonworking day is August 27 (Wednesday), when Moldova celebrates the Independence Day. August 31, when the Romanian Language Day is marked, falls on a Sunday. December 25, when Christians observe Christmas according to the new calendar, is a public holiday.

The day when the settlements celebrate their foundation day is also a nonworking day. In Chisinau, it is October 14.
