The Moldovans preferred to stay home on this Easter. Tour operators say the demand for village tourism facilities has slightly been up, while few dared to go and rest abroad, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Svetlana Lazar, the director of the Rural Tourism National Association (ANTREC) has said the agri-tourism entities are more popular this year, compared to last year. “The cottages have prepared themselves according to the holiday: they prepared plentiful tables, with home-made dishes and drinks,” specified Svetlana Lazar. The accommodation in the agri-tourism entities from Moldova costs from 25 and 50 euros/person. The price includes three meals a day.
“This year, during the Easter holidays, the most demanded cottages of Moldova are in the villages of Valeni, Butuceni, Trebujeni, Slobozia Dusca, Criuleni, Lalova, Floresti, Glodeni, Balti, Gordinesti, etc.”
“The request for Easter stays for foreign people dropped 15-20%”, Nicolae Platon, the chairman of the Tourism Agencies National Association, has told Info-Prim Neo.
“The season is on only in Turkey, but people can go on tours also in Romania, Moldovita, Sucevita, Putna and others,” Nicolae Platon said.
In the context of the world economic crisis, Nicolae Platon forecasts the leisure demand will drop to 25%. “However, the Moldovans will anyway go to rest abroad. They will not ask for five-star hotels, but the 3-4 star hotels are OK for them.”
