The Moldovans working in Portugal will be able to receive sickness, incapacity, paternity, maternity, old-age, adoption benefits as well as death benefit when a member of the family dies, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. They will also be entitled to unemployment benefit in case of accidents at work and professional diseases. This is stipulated in the administrative arrangement for fixing the procedure for implementing the Social Security Agreement between Moldova and Portugal that was signed in Lisbon on October 26. The document on behalf of Moldova was signed by Ambassador Valeriu Turea, while on behalf of Portugal – by Minister of Solidarity and Social Security Luís Pedro Russo da Mota Soares. According to official records, more than 20,000 Moldovans immigrated to Portugal, which is the largest number.
