Moldovans in Italy plan to open cultural center in Padua

The Moldovan community in Italy is planning to open a cultural center of Moldova in the Italian city of Padua. The Bureau for the Diaspora will allocate the sources necessary for maintaining such a center, Info-Prim Neo. The Bureau's director Victor Lutenco encouraged the leaders of disapora organizations as well as ordinary diaspora members to contribute to this project so that the cultural center becomes operational in 2013. The Moldovan diaspora in Italy also intends to organize folk dance classes and organize horas on a weekly basis. Alexandru Marcinschi, the leader of a diaspora organization in Italy, remarked that customs are a treasure inherited from our ancestors that must be cherished. “A strong cooperation between organizations, based on moral principles and mutual respect, will helpt to promote culture and national values”, he said.
