Nine Moldovans were hospitalized as a result of a road accident that happened in Tver Oblast of Russia on the night of October 30. They travelled in a minibus that skidded off the road into a ditch and crashed into a tree, IPN reports.

The Russian Agency Tass reported, with reference to law enforcement agencies of Russia, that the road was icy. No one was hurt seriously and the nine passengers were taken to a hospital nearby to be offered medical assistance.

The source also said the minibus driver was transporting passengers illegally. There were 13 persons on the minibus. Nine of them suffered injuries. It was preliminarily established that the driver gathered passengers over the Internet and carried them to the Russian border. The minibus usually picked these up at a particular metro station.

It was also established that the driver aged 21, who is a citizen of the Russian Federation, earlier committed similar irregularities, having paid about 60 fines. He has a driver’s license, but does not have the category that allows transporting passengers by that minibus that is not appropriately equipped.

The competent bodies are to decide whether to take legal action in this case or not.
