The Parliament of Turkey ratified the agreement on the reciprocal abolition of the visa regimes with Moldova on January 24. In 15 days the agreement is to be promulgated by the Turkish President. Thus, the Moldovans can travel visa-free to Turkey from the middle of February, IPN reports.

The information was made public by the Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade in a news conference in Chisinau on February 5. “We believe that the abrogation of the visa requirements will lead to the intensification of the bilateral visits,” stated Hayati Yazici, who is in Moldova on a visit.

The agreement on the reciprocal abolition of the visa regimes between Moldova and Turkey was signed in November 2012. Moldova’s Parliament ratified it on April 11, 2013.

Currently, the Moldovans pay €20 or US$30 for a Turkish visa.
