The Moldovans deposited less money in banks, down 380 million lei compared to August. According to the National Bank, the total amount of deposits in expressed Moldovan lei reaches 23.785 billion lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. The deposits in Moldovan lei reach 1.323 billion, over 300 million less than in August. The deposits in foreign currencies reached an equivalent of 1.440 billion lei in September. The total volume of deposits in foreign currencies is 10.919 billion lei. The interest rate offered by the commercial banks in Sept. was 18.99% (17.52% for legal entities and 19.54% for natural entities). The largest usuries were offered for the deposits in lei: from 6 months to 12 – 20.11% and from 3 to 6 months – 19.2%. Some 76% of the deposits were made for a middle term, from 3 to 12 months. The average interest rate of the deposits in currency was 10.93%.
