The Moldovans are disappointed with the current political class that, despite the results achieved at external level, didn’t manage to remedy the situation inside the country. Such opinions were stated in the program “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

Director of the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS Doru Petrutsi said the people already penalized the current government by showing distrust and disrespect. “The population does not trust the state institutions and the politicians. It’s time to do the homework at internal level too. A considerable part of the population is waiting for a Prince Charming on a white horse to come and save everyone. But this is utopia deriving from despair, lack of political exercise and political education. It’s said that a large part of the voters fell into this trap especially now, before the elections, which represent a decisive moment for Moldova,” he stated.

Head of the Association “Justice and Fairness” Ion Dron noted that the current government widened the gap between the people and the authorities. “Things developed not as expected. In 2009, the children and parents had their own political preferences, but now neither of them knows who to vote for. We are experiencing an acute crisis of leaders and have a generation that hates the state,” he said.

On the other hand, Cristian Ghinea, director of the Romanian Center for European Policies, considers that this is a normal state for a modern democracy.  “Voters’ expectations are always higher than what the political class proposes. I think it’s not tragic for the population to be disappointed in the political class after five years of government. The politicians now pay the price of government,” he stated.
