The Public Opinion Barometer for November shows that for 31% of the respondents the family incomes are not enough for bare essentials. At the same time, 44.2% of those interviewed said their revenues cover only the basic necessities, while 17.8% said these are enough for decent living, not yet for more expensive goods. 4.6% of those surveyed said they can purchase more expensive goods, but economize in other areas. Almost 1% said they afford everything, while 1.5% do not know or did not answer, IPN reports.
Asked what things concern them the most, 21.4% of those interviewed said the children’s future, 15.8% – prices, 15.7% - poverty. The people are also concerned about unemployment, corruption, disease and the financial crisis.
Asked how satisfied they are with their living, 32.9% of the respondents said they are neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, 29.3% said they are not really satisfied, 20.3% said they are rather satisfied, while 15.2% said they are not at all satisfied. Only 1.2% of those polled said they are satisfied, while 1% do not know or did not answer.
Asked what they would do if they could leave Moldova, 17.5% of the respondents said they would leave for good, 31.4% would leave for a period, while 48.5% would not leave. 2.6% do not know or did not answer.
Those interviewed consider the socioeconomic situation in the country can be improved by fighting corruption first of all and also by changing the senior administration and by fighting crime.
The survey was conducted between November 18 and December 5, 2017 and covered a sample of 1 113 persons older than 18 from 82 communities of Moldova, except for the Transnistrian region. The margin of sampling error is +/- 2.8%.
