Piotr Ianulov, Nicolai Ceban, and Alexandru Chirtoaca have great chances to qualify for the final of the German Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship (Bundesliga). The teams for which the Moldovan wrestlers compete took a step towards qualifying for the last stage of the competition, IPN reports.
In the first semifinal, ASV Nenindgen beat ASV Mainz 88 by 16-13. Piotr Ianulov, Nicolai Ceban, and the Moldovan who represents Monaco Ghenadie Tulbea played a decisive role in their duels.
In the 55 kg class, Ghenadie Tulbea defeated Marco Weber 4-0. In the 84 kg class, Piotr Ianulov won against Konstantin Volk 3-0, while in the 96 kg class, Nicolai Ceban beat William Harth 2-1.
In the other semifinal, Alexandru Chirtoaca’s team SV Germania Weingarten drew away with RWG Mombris-Konigshofen 15-15. Chirtoaca was one of the heroes of the competition, scoring a 2-1 victory in the 55 kg class against Krasimir Krastanov.
The return matches of the semifinals of the German Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship will take place on February 1.
