The Moldovan citizens who settled or work in Estonia or the Czech Republic on a temporary basis will benefit from old-age pensions, disability benefits and successor pensions from the host country, Info-Prim Neo reports. On January 4, the Government approved two bills for ratifying the social insurance agreements signed by Moldova with Estonia and the Czech Republic last autumn. Based on them, the signatory states will pay the part of the pension calculated within the public social insurance system. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said the documents aim to protect the social rights of the Moldovans who live on a permanent basis or work temporarily in Estonia and the Czech Republic. ”The ratification of these documents will have a positive impact on the welfare of the future pensioners forming part of the migrant workers and there will be ensured a system of social security guarantees for the Moldovans working or living in Estonia and the Czech Republic,” said the minister. The two agreements were drafted in accordance with the provisions of the European Convention on Social Security and meet the Council of Europe regulations on the coordination of social security systems. Moldova also signed such agreements with Austria, Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania and Luxemburg.
