The legislature ratified the agreement on social security between Moldova and Austria. Deputy Minister of Labor Sergiu Sainciuc said the document aims to ensure social security guarantees for migrant workers, Info-Prim Neo reports. Each of the two states will pay a part of pension calculated for a certain period into its public social insurance system. The agreement stipulates the right of the migrant workers to benefit in the country where they have the domicile from the allowances obtained in the country where they worked. Austria is the fifth country with which Moldova signed such an agreement. The other four are Portugal, Bulgaria, Romania, and Luxemburg. Similar agreements will be signed with Estonia, Poland, and Hungary. The agreements with Italy and Russia are being negotiated. The agreement on social security with Austria was signed by Moldovan Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga and the Federal Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection of Austria Rudolf Hundstorfer at the start of last September.
