Moldovan Aliona Munteanu was designated the best actress at the short films festival “Trebas” in Canada, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the head of the Moldovan community in Quebec Ala Mandacanu, the young actress played parts in three of the six movies that were premiered. Aliona Munteanu became popular after playing in the play “The Nanny Goat and her Three Kids” and the musical “Cinderella”, and relating a series of Romanian stories at public libraries.
Aliona Munteanu also took part in a TV show in Romanian in 2006, and played a role in the movie “Currency Exchange Facility” for which she was nominated for the Gopo prizes in Romania in 2009.
Ala Mandacanu said that in the “Trebas” festival, there were offered prizes for the best movie, the best producer, the best image director, the best montage, the best sound, the best main actor, and the best main actress. The festival was organized by two young Romanians, Calin Darabut and Adrian Caleanu, and aims to discover new talents among students and future actors, directors and producers.
