The Moldovan traditional way of welcoming spring will be celebrated in the Russian city of St. Petersburg at the International Festival “Friends’ Spring” (“Vesna Druzei”). The festival will feature music and dance performances, as well as a Moldovan wine tasting event.
According to Moldova’s special representative to the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ion Lipciu, the celebration of spring, to be held in St. Petersburg on April 5, will involve all the CIS member countries. At the opening of the festival and during intercessions, the Moldova Vin Agency will offer a tasting of Moldovan wines.
The Republic of Moldova will be represented at the Festival by the National Orchestra of Folk Music “Lautarii”, and the folk bands “Kadinja” from Comrat and “Radoliubie” from Taraclia. The festival will also feature artists and musical ensembles from all CIS member countries, including Azer Zeinalov (Azerbaijan), Piotr Elfimov (Belarus), Karen Grigorean (Armenia), Mirali Dostiev (Tajikistan), Kerim Turapov (Kyrgyzstan), the vocal-choreographic band “Iveria” (Georgia), the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Poiushcie Ghitary” and the artistic band “Russkie Tantsi” (Russia), etc.
The show is expected to have an audience of five thousand, including PACE and Russian Duma officials.
