The Moldovan citizens residing in Bucharest are growing concerned that they will not be able to vote until the polling station closes at 9:00 PM, because of the huge queue outside the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest, which hosts the station, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Victor Morgoci, Liberal Party representative to the Central Election Commission (CEC), has warned CEC members that not all the Moldovans in Bucharest will be able to cast their ballots. “5,000 ballots have been prepared for the that station, but actually 3,500 persons at most will have the technical possibility to vote”, Morgoci told Info-Prim Neo. According to him, those who are standing in line to vote are advised to go to the Moldovan Consulate in Bucharest as an alternative; yet the second location, too, is now overloaded.
“Many Moldovan students studying in Romania decided to vote in Bucharest, even though they could do that at home. But they were afraid they would be stopped at the customs”, explained Morgoci.
CEC chair Eugeniu Stirbu said they would verify the information, but would not intervene unless the stations in Bucharest request it.
