Moldova U17 women’s football team suffered two heavy defeats and missed qualification to the second round of the European Championship 2013, Info-Prim Neo reports.
After the humbling 0-8 at the hand of Belgium, the girls lost on a similar score to Switzerland on Sunday, October 21. In both games, the Moldovans failed to create any chances at the opposite end of the pitch and if not for the efforts of goalkeeper Anastasia Toma, the score could have looked even worse.
Without any gained points or scored goals, the Tricolors sit third in the preliminary group and are out of the competition for qualification to the next round. On Wednesday, October 24, the girls coached by Victor Senic will take on Bulgaria, who have similarly suffered only defeats.
Moldova U19 women’s team stand no better. In their first qualification game, they lost 0-11 to Denmark. Today, October 22, the girls coached by Victor Greapca can rehabilitate themselves in the match against Iceland.
