Moldovan trying to smuggle cigarettes remains without visa

The Iasi border police cancelled the visa of a Moldovan man who attempted to smuggle over 30,000 packs of cigarettes into Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Iasi Border Police Inspectorate. The vehicle with Moldovan license number was heading for Cluj. The undeclared cigarettes were found during border checks. They were hidden in different parts of the car and had the excise stamps of Moldova on them. The 41-year-old driver was fined 10,000 lei. The cigarettes were seized.
