After the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the European Union is initialed at the Vilnius Summit, the Moldovan teachers will have access to the European Commission's eTwinning network, which is an education project that connects teachers from 28 countries and enables access to European funds.

In a news conference at IPN, program coordinator of eTwinning in Moldova Mihai Calalb said that this March Moldova has joined the eTwinning Plus program that is intended for teachers from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova. Within this program, the teachers from the five states can only join projects initiated by teachers from the EU, but cannot launch projects. After the Vilnius Summit, the situation in the education system will change as the Moldovan teachers will be able to receive financial support of about €1,500 for implementing projects.

Based on eTwinning, all the state-run and private preuniversity education institutions of Moldova will be able to apply to the Comenius project that offers young people and teachers a wide range of opportunities for professional and personal development.

Through eTwinning Plus, teachers from Moldova joined 14 European projects and benefit from financial support from the EU for taking part in international training seminars and symposiums. They are also provided with auxiliary teaching aids. The program is designed for all the teachers involved in preuniversity education. They can join the projects under implementation if they know a foreign language and can work on a computer.
