The Moldovan students who study in Romania could travel free by train to the polling places established in Romania for the October 30 presidential elections. The Ministry of Transport of Romania proposed a draft decision providing that the trips by train to and from polling stations will be free, IPN reports.
“Taking into account the necessity of promoting and stimulating the exercise of the right to vote by all the persons eligible to vote, a second-class trip by regional and interregional trains to and from Romanian communities where polling stations will be set up will be provided free between October 29 and 30, 2016,” says the draft decision.
The authors explained that a lot of Moldovan citizens study at lyceums and universities in Romania and want to exercise their right to vote in the October 30 presidential elections. The tickets will be issued at booking offices of stations and travel agencies based on identity cards and student permits.
Polling places for the October 30 presidential elections of Moldova were established in Bucharest, Iasi, Galati, Timisoara, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Bacau, Suceava, and Craiova.
