A Moldovan contingent of 33 servicemen and a bomb disposal squad consisting of seven military men and a general staff officer will take part in the peacekeeping operation in Kosovo. A relevant draft decision of Parliament was approved by the Government, IPN reports.
Deputy Minister of Defense Igor Panfile said that Moldova will annually spend US$923,000 on this mission, but will be able to obtain larger financial benefits within certain projects.
The contingent will start work as part of the Multinational Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo on November 1.
