The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) received seven motorboats and other equipment used in water rescue as a donation from the Czech Fire Rescue Service. The aid was provided under the third edition of the “Improving training and competence of Moldovan rescuers and firefighters” project.

The donation includes rescue helmets, gloves for missions in water and on icy surfaces, throw bags with floating ropes and straps, diving suits and footwear, life jackets and other accessories useful to rescuers.

The IGSU says that the new equipment is designed to strengthen operational capacities, including for raising the level of training of IGSU and IGPF employees, in order to align with European standards and international best practices.

The partnership within the project also includes the organization of training courses for Moldovan rescuers, in two stages, the first of which took place last October in the Czech Republic. There, our rescuers strengthened their skills in identifying, recognizing and rescuing victims, in case of water accidents, and received theoretical and practical training in order to accumulate vast experiences in water rescue missions. The second round will take place in Moldova next week, where ten Czech specialists and 25 IGSU employees will carry out practical exercises with the new equipment, under the specific conditions of our country.
