A church where the religious ceremonies will be held in Romanian will be opened for the first time in Quebec region, in Montreal town. “So far, the services have been held only in Russian and Ukrainian,” priest Alexei Mironas, who intends to open the church, told a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“After blessed by His Holiness Vladimir, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova, initially we will rent a small room, where the Moldovans who live in Canada will come and feel at home,” the priest said.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat will financially support this initiative. “The money is enough to go to Canada and open a church there,” Alexei Mironas said, without specifying the amount.
Christian Orthodox churches with services in Romanian work in Italy, Portugal, Spain and other countries.
