President Igor Dodon has sent a message of condolences to his American counterpart Donald Trump over the mass shootings that left dozens dead and wounded in two separate cases this past weekend, IPN reports.
"On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and myself, let me send our compassion and deep regret to the grieving families and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. The Republic of Moldova strongly condemns such bloody acts and is in solidarity with the authorities of the United States of America in the fight against violence and hatred," wrote the Moldovan president.
According to international media, a 21-year-old opened fire at the Walmart hypermarket in El Paso, Texas, frequented by the Hispanic community, killing 20 people and injuring 26 before being arrested. Several hours later, in front of a bar in Dayton, Ohio, another mass shooting led to at least nine people being killed and another 16 being injured. US authorities reported that the 24-year-old Ohio attacker was shot dead by police just 30 seconds after the intervention began.
